“What is society, mannnn?”
This might have been the question that prompted the actions of the protagonist of this song. From the crystal clear enunciation to the ubiquitous third party that pops up when you least expect, there is something for everyone in this hastily produced composition. The title was patterned after the name of At The Drive-In’s recent compilation CD. (I figured the talk-singing/yelling that I was planning on doing would be somewhat reminiscent of their style.)
Chris pointed out the inconsistency of the seemingly derisive opinion the singer has toward the “liberal media” coupled with the distrust in authority he otherwise displays. Well, uh, maybe I meant to do that to show how torn the main character is between various political identities. Or maybe it’s that I only spent about 20 minutes writing the lyrics.
Luckily I have this dictionary
"A community, nation, or broad grouping
of people having common traditions, institutions
and collective activities
and interests"
Is this what it really means?
(By definition, it must...)
But who can you trust?!
(Professionally published non-fiction works without an obvious agenda
are generally reliable, I wouldn't worry about it)
With all the bias in this liberal media
I dread the thought of surfing Wikipedia
As I prepared for a mental vacation
"For other uses, see Society (disambiguation)."
Oh, great, where's that dictionary?
Knowledge at my fingertips... it's almost scary
(Uh, how do you mean?)
You'll never know...
Nor will I, it seems
(Professionally published non-fiction works without an obvious agenda
are generally reliable, you shouldn't worry about it)
I don't know the meaning of the word
You laugh now, I'm not being facetious
It may seem a bit over the top
Rhetorical devices I employ will never stop!
(You'll never know the definition)
I'll never know the definition
(Professionally published non-fiction works without an obvious agenda
are generally reliable, I wouldn't worry about it)
